Montres Airain was originally conceived in 1934 by the famous Dodane family and has gained a reputation for its trusted high-quality timepieces. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Arain was one of the selected suppliers of Type 20 models to the French Army (along with Breguet and Dodane). The Type 20 refers to the Pilot's Chronograph Specification issued by the French Ministry of Defense. These specifications include:
